Objectives

1- Strengthening preventive measures to limit the spread of genetic diseases such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia. 2- Activating the role of genetic counseling centers due to their importance in limiting the disease. 3- Regulating and unifying the mechanism of premarital medical screening.

Summary

An amendment to the Premarital Medical Examination Regulation is introduced to reinforce the preventive public health approach and to reduce the prevalence of certain genetic diseases, such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.
